TAKE A BITE EVERY DAY

“Constant dripping hollows out a stone. “ – LucretiusTime flies when you take a stand on what your heartfelt desires are, and you just put yourself on the path and move forward on what you love, step by step. Funny how time seems to disappear when you are living what you love and loving what you live. The ANSWER is finding something you are passionate about, and going for it like there is no tomorrow, and like there is nothing else you are doing it for except the passionate thing itself! Time collapses and you get lots of results. But as soon as you do something for the sake of some other result, then you lose the passion for the thing itself and it is then inauthentic and hard. You get less results and start assessing what is wrong. Life goes away and the light of excitement is dimmed. Friends and supporters go away, and your purpose is an empty song with no music. So, remember to find your passion or reason for being and doing something. Look at “what wants to happen”, and you love it anyway; and align your participation with the flow of the natural movement. Have fun and live in joy; you will find that your accomplishments, in terms of results, will be more than you could have planned. The result is a by-product of the fun and joy of participating in what you love! What do you think of this? Have you had an experience lately that fit these sugestions about living your passion? Have you had any experiences lately that dim the light by looking at what is wrong? What is an example you have lived that can exemplify either of these ideas?I am reminded of a way to act on something you value, and how to accomplish your dreams and goals, whatever they may be. One teacher said to take five whacks a day with the axe in order to fall the biggest tree. Another, says to climb a mountain a step at a time, and you will surely make it to the top. And there are numerous examples that say, your dreams can be achieved by you if you just start and keep the practice of making a significant contribution towards it every day.”…Think about how quickly this past year has gone. When we look at a monumental task and think about what it will take to accomplish that task, we often feel overwhelmed. But what if, like the dripping water on the stone, you took a small bite out of that task everyday? Not everyday one week and twice the next week, then take a couple weeks off before putting three more days together again. What if you actually took that bite out of the task EVERY – SINGLE – DAY?We’ve seen how quickly a year goes by. Try to imagine how much progress can be made on an endeavor taking 365 bites! If you lost just one pound per week, at this time next year you would be 52 pounds lighter. If you wrote just one page per day on that novel you have wanted to write for years, you would have a 365-page tome at this time next year. It is the constant dripping of small actions that hollow out the stone.”—Jeff YoungPostyour examples and comments on how this fits for you now, and share your reality so others may benefit from you. The season of making new plans is upon a lot of people, and what you have to say could accelerate the process of acheiving dreams and what others want to support. You make a difference, now. Looking forward to hearing from you…

SHARING IS THE KEY

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like.”

The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the holy man’s mouth water. The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, “You have seen Hell.”

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man’s mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, “I don’t understand.”It is simple” said the Lord, “it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves.”

PERSEVERANCE IS A MUST!

“Success is not forever and failure is never fatal”

Don Shula, Hall of Fame NFL Coach

We have all heard the admonishment about not resting on our laurels, yet most of us lose at least some perspective once we achieve an overwhelming success. In the 2003 college football season, the Oregon Ducks hammered the third ranked Michigan Wolverines and climbed into the top ten college football rankings. It seemed the sky was the limit for the mighty Ducks until they spent the next two weeks looking like the Keystone Cops in shoulder pads and fell completely out of the top 25 rankings.

Whatever success principles and habits you employ to gain success, you must continue to exercise those habits or your success will be fleeting. Ask any entertainer that has made it to the top of their profession and they will tell you that as tough as it was to get to the top, staying atop their perch is that much more difficult.

Success is not forever, neither is failure. Until you quit, the game of life is not over. Whether or not you get back up off the ground and fight when life knocks you down, or roll over and wet on yourself is as simple as a decision. What is awesome is the fact that that decision is entirely yours. Don’t get too high or complacent when things are rolling your way, or too low and down on yourself when things seem to be getting away from you. Stay the course with a sound set of success principles and habits and you will win in the end.

EXPRESSING GRATITUDE — What You Focus on You Create

“The more you recognize and express gratitude for the things you have, the more things you will have to express gratitude for.”

-Zig Ziglar

I remember once when a girlfriend and I had been getting on each other’s nerves, we decided to present each other with a list of all the things that were bothering us about each other.  We had intended to present our lists to each other in hopes of working out our differences.  When I sat down to write the list, I was suddenly struck with the fact that I had been consumed with everything “wrong” about her.

I took some time to reflect, and decided instead to write down everything “right” about her.  My list of everything I appreciate and admire about her began to grow and slowly the negative began to shrink and dissipate.  I began finding myself saying things like, “how many people would really do that for me?”  And, “I’ve always wanted someone that has this characteristic, but almost nobody does.”  Suddenly, this person that I had been so “fed up” with began to grow in my eyes, and my love and appreciation for her began to skyrocket.

From then on, whenever I began to complain to myself about her, I just pulled out the list and reminded my petty self of everything “right” with her.  How long has it been since you have meditated on and expressed gratitude for everything you love in and about your spouse or partner or children?  How much would you miss those things if these people were taken from you?  Whatever you focus on and emotionalize, you tend to manifest in your life.  Be very careful.

TO BE UNCOMMON

I found the following quote to be moving and a fitting passage for what we are up to in our effort to contribute to the world.  It is claiming the value that we are as individuals and taking a stand for being a difference, and “Being the Answer”.  It is our commitment to be uncommon and unique, and to share our vision — living life “playiung to win”, rather than playing “not to lose”.  So I encourage you to take proaction and share your vision, and risk being who you are and what you stand for.

“I DO NOT CHOOSE TO BE A COMMON MAN OR WOMAN, IT IS MY RIGHT TO BE UNCOMMON — IF I CAN.  I SEEK OPPORTUNITY — NOT SECURITY.  I DO NOT WISH TO BE A KEPT CITIZEN, HUMBLED AND DULLED BY HAVING SOMEONE LOOK AFTER ME.  I WANT TO TAKE THE CALCULATED RISK:  TO DREAM AND TO BUILD, TO FAIL AND TO SUCCEED.  I REFUSE TO BARTER INCENTIVE FOR A DOLE.  I PREFER THE CHALLENGES OF LIFE TO A GUARANTEED EXISTENCE, THE THRILL OF FULFILLMENT TO THE STALE CALM OF UTOPIA.  I WILL NOT TRADE FREEDOM FOR BENEFICENCE, NOR MY DIGNITY FOR A HANDOUT.  I WILL NEVER COWER BEFORE ANY MASTER NOR BEND TO ANY THREAT. IT IS MY HERITAGE TO STAND ERECT, PROUD AND UNAFRAID:  TO THINK AND ACT FOR MYSELF, TO ENJOY THE BENEFIT OF MY CREATIONS AND TO FACE THE WORLD BOLDLY AND SAY, THIS I HAVE DONE.”

Don’t wait until it is “safe” and then commit. Commitment is needed before the fact rather than after the fact.  It is this kind of commitment that generates life into being rather than reacting to what has already come to pass.  As we set about delivering our messages to the world through the movie, as you join in carrying the messages, don’t wait until after the fact.  Take a stand and the steps to have it be an unprecedented success, with no evidence, because “you say so”!
